Question by stormfaery5: Anyone know about ringworm in dogs?
I just noticed yesterday my dog has a red circular spot on his inner rear leg. It looks virtually like a burn from a automobile cigarette lighter (it’s not of course!) It is not inflamed, scaly, or irritated looking in any way nor does it appear to itch. It is in an area that naturally has little hair, so hair loss has not occurred. Does this sound like ringworm? Is it alright to just use an antifungal cream for humans? I know ringworm requirements to be diagnosed by a vet, but it seems like such a minor infection and I would like to save the money from a overpriced vet visit if possible. Thanks for your help!
